Certification Requirements & Renewal
Everything you need to know about completing your Silver Level certifications and maintaining your credentials
The Silver Level certification includes three professional credentials: Certified Caregiving Consultant (CCC), Certified Caregiver Educator (CCE), and Certified Caregiving Facilitator (CCF). Here are the requirements for each and what you need to do to renew.
CCC Certification Requirements
Complete these requirements to earn your Certified Caregiving Consultant credential:
Training & Knowledge
Participate in sessions with our CCC Skills Consultants
Complete our 9 modules and their related quizzes and assignments
Complete 8 hours of live training to practice skills and leading planning sessions
Review our reading material, including our caregiving research
Pass a two-part written exam demonstrating caregiving knowledge
Skills & Demonstration
Pass an oral exam: successfully lead a 45-minute caregiving planning session with a Skills Consultant
Effectively demonstrate our three-part communication strategy (asking, listening, validating)
Host a Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok Live session with family caregivers
Facilitate a 50-minute Zoom meeting with family caregivers
Client Experience & Practice
Attend 3 hours in-person, virtual, or online caregiving support group sessions
Deliver 5 complementary consulting sessions to build your portfolio
Conduct 5 check-in sessions weekly for 4 weeks with family caregivers (evaluation required)
Lead 5 fifty-minute planning sessions (After the Diagnosis, Family Emergency, Get Paid, or Respite In Place Planning)
Create and deliver 3 programs using our Caregiving Wheels
Lead 2 group coaching sessions using courses from Caring Our Way
Additional Requirements
Complete a marketing assignment for your consulting practice
Tell a 4-minute caregiving story (yours or another's) during training
Important Timeline
Complete the program within one year of your enrollment date.
Because we regularly update and enhance our program, we want you to work with our most current frameworks, resources, and opportunities. Completing the program on a timely basis honors the other committed participants who complete on time. You also confidently deliver best-in-class support and coaching to your clients.
Complete all certification requirements within 90 days of your live training date. We've learned that students who complete their certification requirements quickly are most successful after finishing our program.
Example: If you enroll on January 1 and attend live training on March 1, you have 90 days from March 1 to complete all certification requirements.
Penalty: Students completing requirements 91 days or after will incur a $200 penalty to become certified.
CCE & CCF Certification Requirements
The CCE and CCF certifications are completed as part of your Silver Level training:
CCE (Certified Caregiver Educator)
Complete 4 on-demand modules and attend a 4-hour live workshop. Present a 45-minute seminar on caregiving stages with feedback from instructors and a live audience.
CCF (Certified Caregiving Facilitator)
Attend a 4-hour live training to master group facilitation skills, learn to use Caregiving Wheels in groups, and practice facilitation with classmates.
CCC Qualifications
To be qualified to take our Silver Level training program, you must:
- Have personal or professional caregiving experience (currently or in your past)
- Be compassionate, open-minded, and curious
- Have peace about your own caregiving experience so you can release your story and fully engage with your clients' stories
CCC Renewal (Every 2 Years)
Your Certified Caregiving Consultant designation requires renewal every two years. Renewal must be completed within 30 days of your certification expiration date. After the grace period, certification lapses and reinstatement is required.
To maintain your credential, you must:
Renewal Basics
Pay your renewal fee of $249

Earn 16 CEUs through courses, events, or conferences (1 hour = 1 CEU)
Professional Activity (Choose One Path)
Complete one of these within 24 months:
Deliver 40 consulting sessions (includes complementary sessions, planning sessions, and one-on-one coaching)
Host 12 events (includes support groups, workshops, webinars)
Host 12 podcasts (episodes focused on caregiving topics)
Present 4 workshops (to communities, organizations, or professional groups)
Publish 24 articles or blog posts (about caregiving, resources, or support)
Volunteer 20 hours (supporting family caregivers, including online support groups like Facebook communities)
