Last week, I finally made a decision five years in the making. I decided to stop following an expectation I made for myself. When I made this perspective shift, I also stop following a colleague on social media.
Perhaps I spent too many years fretting about this.
Or, it just took five years for everything to align so that I could stop following in a peaceful, non-dramatic way.
This week, let’s consider who and what we can stop following, like:
- Advice that doesn’t not apply to our situation and/or that just doesn’t work for us.
- Individuals on social media who don’t bring value to our day.
- An expectation of ourselves that’s not realistic, helpful or compassionate.
We can remind that we have a choice about who and what we follow by asking ourselves this question to begin our day: Who and what will I stop following?
What will you stop?
