Learning Objectives for our Caregiving Master Class Bundle
In the U.S., at least 40 million individuals care for a family member or friend. Chances are, your clients, customers, employees and worshippers currently care for a parent, spouse, child, grandparent or sibling with a chronic illness or disability. A caregiving experience is a unique one because of its challenging situations, difficult emotions and heartbreaking impact. With our Caregiving Master Class Bundle, you'll better understand those individuals you encounter at work and in the community. With greater insights, you'll feel better about your interactions and conversations with family caregivers.

The program objectives are:

  1. To educate attendees about the evolution of the caregiving experience, which changes over time.
  2. To inform attendees about effective resources they can use within each stage.
  3. To provide attendees with a frame work which describes the family caregiver experience so they can be access appropriate support during each caregiving stage.
  4. Learn how compassion fatigue may appear during a caregiving experience.
  5. Identify the different types of fatigues family caregivers may feel.
  6. Gain strategies to implement to help family caregivers feel better.
  7. Learn about a family caregiver’s house of cards and what creates that house of cards.
  8. Understand the threats to the family caregiver’s house of cards and how those threats make accepting help a challenge.
  9. Gain strategies to use in conversations with family caregivers so you can help them accept help and support.
  10. Understand the 17 systems family caregivers navigate and the challenges within each.
  11. Learn how one situation can mean a family caregiver navigates multiple systems.

To earn CEUs, you must join a live training. We hold live trainings annually in October. You are welcome to join a live training to earn CEUs even if you've already completed our classes.

We've been approved to provide 6 continuing education hours for the list of professionals, below. Continuing education hours are provided by the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois.

    This program is valid for 6 PDCs for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM in all 50 states.
  • Professional Coaches
    Professional coaches can earn 6 hours for resource development in all 50 states.

After completing each class, you'll complete an exam and receive a certificate. If you join a live training to earn CEUs, you'll also receive a CEU certificate.

Denise first developed The Caregiving Years, Six Stages to a Meaningful Journey in 1997. Over the past twenty-three years, Denise has refined the concept to reflect today's caregiving experience.
