I do my best to pay attention to what I tell myself. When I listen to what I say in my head, I often hear what really doesn’t help:
- I didn’t do that well enough.
- I’m failing at that.
- I’m failing them at that.
Those messages can become my broken record that really can break my spirit.
I need to replace that record. I instead can play:
- I did that well enough.
- I’m bringing my best to that situation.
- I’m offering what I can to help them.
I’d love for those kinds of kind messages to automatically play in my head because I can’t get enough of them. I feel relaxed, motivated, composed when I hear those short songs. I’ll remind myself that I can choose what I hear by asking myself this question to start my day:” “How will I replace my broken record?”
What’s a better record you can play that comforts and energizes you?
