Almost 85% say emotional support is one of their top responsibilities, more than personal care (58%). Yet we have no formal, reimbursed service that provides emotional support to family caregivers themselves.

Family caregivers give without having the support they deserve.

We want to change that.

We’re gathering Saturday (September 12) to advocate for better support and help for family caregivers. We want:

✅ Medicare to expand coverage of existing billable services for “social and emotional support” to include coverage for the family caregiver.

✅ Medicare to recognize home health agencies as a delivery channel for family caregiver coaching so that both family caregiver and the caree receive support.

✅ State legislatures to add a mandatory referral to caregiver coaching within the CARE Act’s existing hospital discharge notification requirement.

When we provide emotional support to family caregivers we decrease their stress, increase their quality of life and help them keep a life during a life of caregiving.
