The stories of caregiving drew me to the work of supporting family caregivers.
That’s how powerful your stories are.
In 1990, I visited family caregivers in their homes to help them create plans for their breaks. I managed a respite care program funded by casino revenue in a county in New Jersey. During these visits, I sat across from family caregivers and simply listened. The stories they told captivated me.
I continue to be captivated. I’ve never heard the same story twice.
When you’re in it, though, you may wonder struggle to find the words for your story. To help, I held a free, virtual workshop yesterday called “Crafting Your Caregiving Story.”
