Certification Requirements & Renewal
What you need to do to become certified and maintain your credentials
Certification Requirements
To become a Certified Caregiving Consultant after completing your Bronze Level training, you must complete all of the following requirements:
Complete Your Training Foundation
Complete all 9 modules and their related quizzes and assignments
Complete 8 hours of live training to practice skills and planning sessions
Review our reading material and caregiving research
Pass a two-part written exam
Pass an oral exam by leading a 45-minute caregiving planning session
Effectively demonstrate our three-prong communication strategy
Demonstrate Real-World Skills
Host a Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok Live event to foster meaningful interactions with family caregivers
Facilitate a 50-minute Zoom meeting with family caregivers
Attend three hours of in-person, virtual, or online caregiving support group meetings to gain insights
Deliver five complementary consulting sessions to family caregivers
Practice with Real Clients
Meet with 5 family caregivers virtually each week for 4 weeks (check-in sessions). Focus on asking good questions, listening effectively, and offering validation. Request their evaluation at the end.
Lead five 50-minute planning sessions using our tools (After the Diagnosis Planning, Family Emergency Planning, Get Paid Planning, or Respite In Place Planning)
Create and deliver three original programs using our Caregiving Wheels
Lead two group coaching sessions using courses from Caring Our Way
Complete Professional Development
Complete a marketing assignment to position your services in your market
Tell a four-minute caregiving story—yours or another person's (colleague, friend, etc.) during live training
Important Timeline
Complete the program within one year of your enrollment date.
Because we regularly update and enhance our program, we want you to work with our most current frameworks, resources, and opportunities. Completing the program on a timely basis honors the other committed participants who complete on time. You also confidently deliver best-in-class support and coaching to your clients.
Complete all certification requirements within 90 days of your live training date. Students who complete requirements promptly demonstrate the commitment and momentum that defines a Certified Caregiving Consultant.
You complete all 9 modules and then attend live training. You have 90 days from that live training date to finish all certification requirements.
Late Completion Penalty: If you complete requirements 91+ days after your live training date, you'll incur a $200 penalty to become certified.

Required Qualifications
To be qualified to enroll in our Bronze Level training, you must meet the following:
Whether currently or in your past, you have direct experience with caregiving
You're genuinely interested in learning and helping others navigate their caregiving journey
You've found peace about your caregiving experience so you can release your story and be fully present with your clients
Renewal Process
Maintain Your Certification
Your Certified Caregiving Consultant designation requires renewal every two years. Renewal is straightforward and focuses on ongoing learning and continued engagement with family caregivers.
Renewal must be completed within 30 days of your certification expiration date. After the grace period, certification lapses and reinstatement is required.

Complete other courses and/or attend events and conferences. Each workshop or conference hour equals one CEU.
