Become a Certified Caregiving Consultant

Our Certified Caregiving Consultant™ training program offers the insights about the caregiving experience and teaches the communication techniques which enhance your connections with family caregivers. We teach you how to be effective when you consult with clients who may be experiencing the worst times of their lives.

Family caregivers are searching for help. They want to connect with another who's had a similar experience and who has completed professional training. Meaning, they look for letters after a name. Our CCC letters mean an individual has committed to professional development and excellence in service to those who care and cared for a family member.

To help you decide which program may be right for you, Denise M. Brown, founder of The Caregiving Years Training Program, recorded an overview and interactive discussion of our various training programs for family caregivers and former family caregivers. (Learn more about Denise’s perspective by watching our archive, How Will We Care?)

"The interactive components like the chat rooms, the worksheets, and just the delivery of the program are fantastic! The course requires thought and reflection during the modules but also afterward." ~ a CCC student

Your Knowledge Base + Our Process + Our Tools = Success for You and Your Client
During our course, we'll teach you the process we know that works with stressed-out and overwhelmed family caregivers.

In addition, you receive access to our unique and innovative tools and assessments. You'll receive training on how to use the tools, like the My Life Right-Now Wheel, to engage more effectively with your clients. You'll also receive training on how to turn our tools into packages you market to your clients.

Tools include various wheels (see examples below) which become visual prompts to help your clients focus on what they need and want. We also have a Caregiving Personality Assessment to uncover your client's strengths and a Peace and Comfort at End of Life assessment to help your clients create just the right environment during their caree's last weeks.

You also can join our Caregiving Support BenefitLegacy Listening and lead Care and Share™ moveable support group meetings. With our Caregiving Support Benefit, Story Project and Care and Share™, you have three programs that help you immediately connect with family caregivers and prospective clients.

An investment in our training program is an investment in your career or business. Many of our Certified Caregiving Consultants™ bill about $40 per 30-minute consulting sessions which means you earn back your investment by billing 38 hours of your consulting time with clients. You also will earn back your investment when you help 20 clients create their Family Emergency Plan, one of our Caregiving Tools. (Everyone needs a Family Emergency Plan.)

Already work with family caregivers in a home health, hospital, long-term facility or social service agency? Join our program to enhance your skills and understanding of the caregiving experience. We've been approved to provide 37 continuing education hours for graduates of our Certified Caregiving Consultant™ training program. (See more about CEUs, below.)

Meet a Trainer: Denise M. Brown

Denise M. Brown launched CareGiving.com in 1996 and sold the online community in March 2020. CareGiving.com was the first website to add online caregiving support groups, daily caregiving chats and blogs written by family caregivers. Through its blogs posts, podcasts and video chats, CareGiving.com holds one of the largest online libraries of caregiving stories.

Next Avenue named Denise a 2017 Influencer in Aging, one of "50 advocates, researchers, thought leaders, innovators, writers and experts who continue to push beyond traditional boundaries and change our understanding of what it means to grow older."

Denise launched the Caregiving Consultant Training™ program in 2016 to create opportunities for former family caregivers to share their wisdom, knowledge basis and encouragement with current family caregivers.
